OUT ON THE TOWN…
When it comes to Restaurants in San Francisco, the possibilities are limitless. And just when we thought the City couldn’t possibly invent yet another, a new trend has emerged that is sweeping the dining scene by storm. We’ve had the pleasure of meeting Blair and his wife, Carolyn, and love bringing awareness of other small, local business owners who make their industry a better one.
Blair Warsham is the creator of GraffEats Guerrilla Dining and the mastermind behind the newest pop-up restaurant, American Bao Bar. Designed to mix Asian street food with the sophistication of the SF bar culture, American Bao Bar took temporary residence at Nombe and Southpaw BBQ in the Mission. Marrying the traditional and beloved flavors from Taiwan and Singapore’s popular street vendors with sustainable, organic, and locally sourced ingredients, Warsham has created a unique dining experience and a wonderful addition to the SF restaurant scene.
Warsham is also dedicated to giving back to the community.
GraffEats donates a portion of all proceeds towards educating children about healthy eating and responsible, sustainable food sourcing.
American Bao Bar is currently hosting events during the month of May at Lot 7 off Valencia, in San Francisco’s Mission district. To stay apprised of their open events and to track their current whereabouts, visit their facebook page. And next time you’re in the mood for an authentic, unique dining experience, just follow their signature “Hot Buns” neon sign, and you’ll be in for an evening that will feed you and your philanthropic soul.
DID YOU KNOW?
Celebrating the birth of a child is indeed, a day to celebrate! According to Huffington Post, approximately 65% of women receive a congratulatory gift to mark the occasion of having a new baby. A ‘push present’ as it’s often referred, can take on any form; but is typically a piece of jewelry given by the spouse commemorating the special day, as well as serving as a symbol of their love and appreciation. The gift can be given during the pregnancy, right after birth in the hospital, or even months after the baby is born. The bottom line: Motherhood is hard, and receiving a special gift recognizing this, is always much appreciated.
The bracelet pictured above is a beautiful custom piece we designed for a Special Mother upon the birth of her second daughter. It showcases her own astrology sign, anchored by her daughter’s on either side. The Rose Gold necklace, pictured to the left, is a design we created for a new Mother with her son’s initials followed by her birthstone.
Maddox, of their family.
The symbolism and simplicity of the design captivated and inspired us to create a similar piece for my daughters to give to their Grandmothers this year for Mother’s Day. Below, are their designs they created to use for the cuffs.
As we began the creative process, we started to think about all the design possibilities: a fingerprint, children’s names in their own handwriting, or a favorite sketch with a birthstone. What we love is that you can make them as personalized as you wish, commemorating anything that is dear to you; something that is sure to make the recipient smile each time she looks down at her own specially designed gift.
